What is Scholars of Color?

It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

Gender Pronouns: She/her/hers

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): School Psychologist

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I am compassionate and caring. Helping others is something that brings me great satisfaction. I would also describe myself as easy going, able and willing to look at things from different perspectives, and flexible. Do not be deceived though, I will definitely take a stand for the things that really matter!

What are you passionate about?: My family and helping children thrive.

What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: This is an amazing opportunity to bring light to the achievements of one another which may at times go unnoticed in the big scheme of things.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I am also the Chair of the Board of a non-profit organization designed to mentor and empower young girls.
